Te oranga ngahere, te oranga iwi katoa.
From flourishing forests, all people once thrived.
The mission of WHARE TĪ is to enable Indigenous-led native forest farming that regenerates nature’s provisions and strengthens living supply chains. By modelling and implementing Indigenous practices, we re-Indigenise relationships among land, forest, and economy—ensuring reciprocity, resilience, and long-term well-being.
WHARE TĪ centres on a Māori approach to a Living Forest Economy in which native forests are recognised as relatives and are valued because they remain standing, diverse, intact and with multiple purposes. By architecting Kin-Value Chains, we unlock premium value with tree removal used to improve ecosystem health only, bridging the missing middle between customary stewardship and market participation in the Indigenous forest economy.
